I always keep plain Greek yogurt in my refrigerator. Its super high in protein (about 20 grams per cup) and fat free! The neutral flavor and nutrition benefits have made it a staple in our house.

8+ Ways to Use Plain Greek Yogurt
In Place of Sour Cream
Anytime a recipe calls for sour cream, use greek yogurt instead. I bet you won’t be able to tell the difference!
In Place of Oil in Recipes
Now this substitution doesn’t work every time, but while baking it very often does! I substitute greek yogurt for oil in my favorite waffles recipe, muffins, quick breads and pancakes.
I make spinach smoothies all the time. So easy!! I combine plain greek yogurt, frozen fruit (banana, mango, strawberries, peaches, etc) and several huge handfuls of spinach. No added fillers. No added sweeteners. High protein and amazing for you!
On Top of Curry
Homemade curry it one of my favorite, go to, easy meals. I make vegetarian and chicken varieties often. Fine the recipe here. Nothing spruces up this meal like a dollop of greek yogurt and sprinkle of chopped cilantro.
In Amazing Scones
I make scones all the time. They seem fancy. They’re super easy and the recipe I use is actually fairly healthy. I originally found my recipe over on Joyful Healthy Eats, but have now tweaked it by always using plain greek yogurt instead of flavored or sweetened. Find the recipe here.
This may be the most obvious use of yogurt. I eat greek yogurt with cut up banana and a sprinkle of homemade granola for a quick and healthy breakfast or snack.
In Baby Food
My daughter eats overnight oats every morning for breakfast – I grind oatmeal, flax seed, and chia seeds in the blender then add greek yogurt, water and Blackstrap molasses (great way to add iron into a toddler’s diet). I also mix greek yogurt into things like quinoa and lentils that are too small for her to pick up.
Cold Cucumber Avocado Soup
Such a refreshing summer dinner! A quick whirl of the blender with seedless cucumber, yogurt, avocado, green onions, and cilantro and you have a delicious appetizer or first course!
PLUS: Homemade Sauces
Plain greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and cut up cucumber. You have the makings of a delicious Greek inspired dinner. Pull out some grilled chicken, pita bread and you’re all set!
