Have you ever had a kitchen gadget that you just loved. Not that it only did its job or fit nicely in the drawer, but that every single time you use it brings a smile to your face? I have a few of those. They’re not something you must have or even something that you need. They are however, wonderful.
The Garlic Rocker
I have a love affair with garlic. I’m know to double and triple the amount called for in recipes and not blink an eye. I especially love fresh garlic and this gadget changed my life. Garlic presses are a pain – they’re hard to clean, you waste half the garlic you put in, and they’re super bulky. My sister-in-law gave me this garlic rocker as a wedding present and I love it! No garlic wasted, washes easily, and the stainless steel cleans the garlic smell from your hands. Amazing!

I’m not brand partial on spatulas. I have a couple that I received as wedding gifts that have served me well. You need a few and I would suggest getting them in different shapes and sizes. They all come in hand for different tasks. Perfect for scraping out the Kitchen Aid to mixing up a batch of scones. You need spatulas around.
The Microplane Grater
What a thing of beauty. But seriously, watch your knuckles because this thing is sharp!! I use my microplane grater/zester for spices, citrus rind, and fresh ginger. Its easy to control and produces amazing, fine zest.
Cutco is one of those companies where people come to your house and do a little presentation on their product and why its so great, etc. I really hate those companies. The only reason that I fell in love with Cutco is because my brother was one of their salespeople one summer. Turns out, you have to practice your sales pitch on someone…
I still love some of the facts from that sales pitch – like the knives can cut through actual leather and the scissors can cut through a penny. I also picked up that they are forever guaranteed – not lifetime, but FOREVER. So be on the lookout for these at a thrift store! You’ll get a deal, y’all.
Mainly, I enjoy the fact that they are super sharp, stay sharp, and do free sharpening when they’re not sharp anymore. I use the trimmer (pictured) daily.
