Today as I was folding my deliciously fluffy and lightly scented towels, I thought I’d share with you my trick for washing them.
I’ve always washed towels with regular detergent – actually I make my own, so I guess its not “regular”, but I never did anything special to them. I had already given up dryer sheets due to the chemicals they contain, the negative effects they can have on your skin and the residue they leave on clothes. However, I started to notice a few months ago that my towels weren’t as absorbent as I’d like and they quickly started to smell stinky after use. Thats when I discovered this simple trick.
I wash my towels in hot water with 3/4 cup of white vinegar. Nothing else. Every fourth time, I wash in regular detergent.
Some of the time I dry them with a drop or two of pure essential oil, like I did today. Smells amazing!
Never have I experienced such clean, fluffy towels. No more mildew smell. No more old towel issues. Just fresh, company ready linens anytime!
